BETA CAE Suite 2026.1 Release Announcement

Cadence BETA CAE Systems released version 2026.1 of its flagship simulation suite on July 31, 2026, marking one of the most technically ambitious updates in the product line's history. The release spans ANSA, META, EPILYSIS, FATIQ, KOMVOS, SPDRM, and ANSERS, and introduces three headline capabilities: the GPU-based Fast Concept Solver (FCX), the Hexa Fit automated hexahedral meshing algorithm, and pervasive Agentic AI integration across the entire workflow.

Fast Concept Solver (FCX): GPU-Accelerated Structural Analysis at Concept Stage

The Fast Concept Solver is a high-performance, GPU-based structural solver embedded directly inside the ANSA pre-processor. Unlike traditional workflows that require exporting a model to an external solver and waiting for batch results, FCX enables engineers to run structural assessments in real time as geometry evolves during the concept design phase.

By leveraging NVIDIA GPU hardware, FCX delivers the computational throughput needed to evaluate consecutive design changes on the fly—without leaving the pre-processing environment. This tight integration between geometry manipulation and structural feedback is intended to compress early-stage design cycles, where rapid iteration is most valuable and where the cost of design changes is lowest.

Hexa Fit: Automated Pure Hexahedral Mesh Generation

Generating high-quality hexahedral meshes for complex, arbitrarily shaped parts has historically required significant manual partitioning effort. The Hexa Fit algorithm automates this process, producing pure hexahedral meshes for geometries that would previously have demanded hours of manual decomposition.

Pure hex meshes are preferred in structural and crash analyses because they offer superior accuracy per element compared to tetrahedral alternatives, particularly for bending-dominated problems. Hexa Fit's automation removes a longstanding bottleneck in the pre-processing pipeline, making high-fidelity hex meshing accessible for production workflows rather than only specialist applications.

Agentic AI: Natural Language and Autonomous Automation Across the Suite

Version 2026.1 embeds Agentic AI capabilities throughout ANSA, META, FATIQ, and KOMVOS. In ANSA, the AI layer provides a natural language interface for task execution, skill-based automation for repetitive pre-processing operations, Python script generation from user intent, and intelligent geometry diagnostics that identify and suggest fixes for mesh quality issues.

In META, the post-processor, Agentic AI enables engineers to query loaded simulation data in plain language, automatically detect solver output formats, and generate reports and presentations without manual configuration. The system can highlight critical results—stress concentrations, intrusion values, frequency response peaks—through intelligent visualization without requiring users to navigate menus manually.

EPILYSIS Solver: Up to 5× GPU Speedup and Expanded Nonlinear Support

The EPILYSIS structural solver receives substantial performance and capability upgrades in 2026.1. The Automated Multi-Level Substructuring (AMLS) eigenvalue solver now runs up to 3× faster with 50% less disk I/O, while GPU acceleration on NVIDIA hardware delivers up to 5× speedup for applicable analyses.

Functionally, EPILYSIS 2026.1 adds support for elasto-plastic material models (MATEP and MATS1) in nonlinear SOL400 analyses, and expands SOL200 topology optimization with new geometric manufacturing constraints including minimum gap requirements. A new LIMFACE parameter allows rigid faces to act as design area constraints in topography and bead optimization studies.

Optimal Workspace and Multidisciplinary Optimization

A new Optimal Workspace environment consolidates parametric, multi-model, and multidisciplinary optimization into a single interface. The workspace includes guided wizards for topology, topography, topometry, size, and shape optimization, and incorporates the ParEGO Bayesian optimization algorithm for efficient exploration of high-dimensional design spaces.
